system to achieve -40 ¦C
system to achieve -40 ¦C
(OP)
Which is the best system to achieve a -40 ° C ambient about 2000 Kcal (8000 BTU)
I read that it shall be a to stage cascade system , but is the only I have.
Could it be possible to use CO2?

RE: system to achieve -40 ¦C
CO2 (dry ice) can be used to cool this load. CO2 (dry ice)is expendable and will have to be replinished as needed. It is relative low cost if cooling needs are intermittant.
If you are focusing on a machanical refrigeration system utilizing CO2 as the low stage refrigerant, I do not have experience with CO2 as the LS. I do have exp. with R508B LS refrigerant cascades however (-100F). As I recommended it to you in thread # 403-71793.
Mobile refrigeration systems can be very complex and expensive if you are on the low side of the learning curve. Two stage refrigeration systems can be a problem on mobile mounts.
Not knowing your ambient conditions it would be futile to estimate the size or configuration here.
Maybe if you find some source of dry ice you'll have the problem solved.
Please if this does not answer your questions. If this is not a related question to the above referenced thread then forgive my asumption.
Then may I ask you to give more information regarding your situation/design. No one here is going to steal your job away from you. The more information you give the more you'll get back in return.
I wish you well

RE: system to achieve -40 ¦C
Ambient temperature could be high , the route run besides a desert near a salt lake.
My first step is to get , if possible, the system, after it we will goes ahead with the project.
My first concern is what compressor , hermetic, semihermetic, or at last open , can be used.
Here in my country I can get BOCK brand compressors.
The reseller , never do a such so low temperature.
So any further assistance you can give me , will be appreciated.

Please reply to my suggestion regarding the use of dry ice? Why is it not feasible?
Is it expensive there?
You understand that you would not have to fill the van. you only need the ammount that will maintain the temperature at -40 for the one hour trip.
