Has anyone designed an air distribution using the Titus flobar system on the side wall? these flobars come with a typical 5 foot long plenum that clips to the flobar rail. the factory provided plenum is 12" deep with an oval duct tap in the middle. my question is : if i need to use a deeper plenum due to structural joises and beams, how deep can this plenum be before noise regeneration becomes an issue? 36", 48", 60"?

RE: Titus Flobar

I don't understand what you're asking: "noise regeneration"? Noise from where? A deeper box is not a bad thing and would actually help allow the air to spread through the length of the diffuser. If noise is a question, use a duct-lined plenum.

RE: Titus Flobar

Don't exceed 300 FPM and locate the volume damper far from the outlet (make sure it is accessible though).

should there be minimum thickness for the plenum? say the flobar is a 3" slot. the actual extruded element is say 6". should the plenum be 10" thick? sound lined? again, we would be dealing with a plenum which is 5 foot long, 6 foot deep and 10" high. with a flobar on one of the sides. do you think this is a bad design?

RE: Titus Flobar

I suggest you contact Titus directly.  I have worked with them in the past and they are very helpful.
