V5 cut & paste feature to new part

(OP)
I am trying to cut and paste a feature created in Generative shape (loft)  but when I paste into a new part I get the following:  Update Diagnostics  - Invalid token input?     seems to be looking for ref. geometry??

Thanks in advance!

RE: V5 cut & paste feature to new part

hi,

do you have any axis in your part ? did you use that axis to create any link (for a sketch plane? for a sketch ref ?)

most of the time, using the axis is no good, use default ref plane or build some line if you need axis (line PT/dir)

Hope that will help

I haven't created an axis,   part was imported from V4.

I have used the extract command on the surface to break the link back to the supporting wirefreame and points.

Thanks!
