I have heard that Dassault has determined that the gsd surface tools should not be used to develop Class A surface.
Any truth to this?

RE: CATIA GSD surface tools

Dassault has another CATIA module (AC3) that "provides all the necessary tools to create and model aesthetic shapes of the highest, class-A quality that capture design intent, using unique surface modeling technologies, such as realtime modeling and freeform associativity."

GSD remains a good surfacing tool.  I think what you heard was that AC3 should be used instead of GSD for class-A surfaces.
