UG18 and NX on WinXP

UG18 and NX on WinXP

Can anyone please help me clear a couple of things up:

I have been using V18 for a couple of years on WinXP. I recently bought a new computer which also has XP, but UG seems to run very slowly, and occasionally 'hangs'. Has anyone else had this problem. I heard that there was a 'workaround' solution (SFB-WXP-808), but have been unable to locate it.

Secondly, I have access to UGNX, but am unsure wether I should use it on a permanent basis as I dont know whether i will be able to read my V18 files in it. Is this possible?

Many thanks.

RE: UG18 and NX on WinXP

The SFB's are available on the UG internal website.

UG NX can read V18 files with no problems. One of the nice things about UG is its ability to read older files in a newer version. I have an old V9 file that still opens in NX.

Files are not backward compatable; V18 cannot read a file saved in NX.
