Are IEC 332 and IEC 60332 the same?

Are IEC 332 and IEC 60332 the same?

Are IEC 332 and IEC 60332 the same?

(OP)
Hello,

I am from Canada and am not very familiar with IEC standards. I would like to know if IEC 332 and IEC 60332 are the same and the "60" is just a prefix with these standards.

Thanks,
Mike

Yes, you are right Mike (the two mean same).

RE: Are IEC 332 and IEC 60332 the same?

Hi Mike4321,

After 1990, IEC had decided to number their standards starting from 60000 to be in line with European Standards(EN-Europen Norms). Therefore all IEC standards now start with 60 or 61 in front of the existing standard number. For example IEC 332 is now IEC 60332, IEC 34 is simply 60034, IEC 1008 is IEC61008 and so on.

Regards!

Kiribanda
