SW2004 BOM Table

SW2004 BOM Table

SW2004 BOM Table

(OP)
Has anyone successfully modified the column headings in the SW2004 BOM?
I have been able to change the heading of the ITEM column and it retains what I type, but when I try to modify the quantity cloumn heading it reverts back to its original text prior to printing. I would like to force it to display QTY.

RE: SW2004 BOM Table

I have done this task many times and have not had the same issues.  Just to make sure that we are doing it the same way....

Click on the column heading
Click column properties in the feature manager
Adjust the title box to change the displayed name.

Thanks,

Daniel

I verifed the steps I was taking match the steps you listed. I am able to change the column heading. When I print the drawing, the column heading changes back to the configuration name/QTY.

I figured it out. If I change the column heading to something completely different it works. When I change the heading to "QTY." it changes back to "Config Name/QTY."

RE: SW2004 BOM Table

Is it possible to hide the Item No column in the new BOM?  In SW2003 using Excel you could hide columns that you didn't want.  Sometimes our drawings only have a couple of parts, not much need for the Item No then and I would like to hide it.  Thanks

RE: SW2004 BOM Table

No... I can't find a way to hide the that column. You can delete it once it's inserted into the drawing.

I tried save it like that, but once inserted back into another drawing it comes back but this time at the end of the BOM.

RE: SW2004 BOM Table

I'm having issues with the PartNo column. We use PDMWorks, so I'd rather have the partnumber reference the custom properties. Unfortunately, whenever I create a BOM SolidWorks 2004 thinks it knows best and adds the default PartNo column in! Has anyone else had this problem?
