wmfout a drawing in paper space

wmfout a drawing in paper space

wmfout a drawing in paper space

(OP)
I have a site plan that is drawn in Model space.  I have had a request to export the paper space drawing with the frame and specific position of site into a wmf.  When I do the export it only picks up the frame and nothing else?

Anyone got a solution for this problem?

Regards
Danjo

RE: wmfout a drawing in paper space

Hi,
nice question.
I would change the objects from pspace to modell-space ("chspace" Exp-Tools), and then use "_wmfout"

Better ideas are welcome

RE: wmfout a drawing in paper space

Chspace will not work unless you draw everything in paper-space.  Chspace will not bring in the contents of your viewports that are in paperspace to modelspace, only your text, dimensions, border, etc..

RE: wmfout a drawing in paper space

Saveimg will work in paperspace and capture everything, but it also captures what is outside your layout.  What you will want to do is zoom extents your layout, then pan your paper all the way to the left.  Then after entering saveimg at the command line, play with the "size" of your "x" in the "Save Image" dialog box.  By doing this, it will crop wherever your inputs are.  For example, for an 8 1/2 x 11 size sheet, I entered "400" in the "x" input box and it only saved the sheet, not the background of paperspace.  By using zoom extents, and trial + error, you will find the best inputs for cropping.  If you didn't use zoom extents, you would also have to play with your "Y" value.
By the way, for whatever reason, a .bmp file format captured everything, but saving the exact same things in a .tiff I lost my text.

Just a simple question - check your layers to see if you drawn anything in viewport? I made that goof and the drawing disappeared in paperspace when I froze the viewport.
Hope this helps - John
