(OP)
Hello, colleagues

I've stumbled upon the following problem:
1. There exists a family table
2. Fam. tab. instance name differs from its true name (by true name I understand its name in accordance with any standard - DIN for example)
3. I have an intention to use instance name in some report. For that purpose I've introduces a parameter "NAME" in generic.
Q: I want this parameter be different for every instance to reflect their true names, but it seems to be impossible. Can you suggest any alternate technique?

Thank you.

RE: fam table elements

I am not 100% sure that I understood your problem, but I am sure that you can use any name you want for the instances in your family table without adding any parameters in your generic

Thank you for your reply

Suppose names of the instances cantain dots or some other taboo symbols. What should I do in that case?

Regards

RE: fam table elements

Use a simplified ....language, and replace dots and other taboo symbols with non-taboo ones
