Making the Jump V4 to V5

Making the Jump V4 to V5

(OP)
I'm just starting to work in V5 and I'm used to doing certain things certain ways. I'm curious if there are equivalent ways to work. One example I'm struggling with: when I want to do a quick layout, I would design in 2d in space and use this geometry later for generating 3D parts. Another example: I'm used to creating a session and then checking clearances by cutting planes and checking to the 2D geometry. Is there a way to do this in V5? Also, in general, how have you changed your methods of clearance checking, laying out parts going from V4 to V5?

Thanks,

Merhar
