Large finite deflection of circular plates

Large finite deflection of circular plates

Large finite deflection of circular plates

(OP)
I have a solution for this problem in Chapter 10.11 of Roark, but the load case refers to constant pressure over all surface. Does anyone has a paper of Mr. Mah, G.B.J. (a proceeding of American Society of Civil Engineers - Mech. Eng. Div., vol 95, no. 5, October 1969)? According to Mr. Roark this paper describes several loadings and edge conditions.
My specific case is an atmospheric horizontal flat head tank and I have to determine the stresses in the heads.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Large finite deflection of circular plates

A point for you to remember in this, if you are relying on large deflection effects (membrane action of the head), the radial forces exerted at the edges of the flat plate (exerted on the tank walls) can be very significant.

RE: Large finite deflection of circular plates

In the site below there are a few forms for circular plates under large deformations. However all the cases are purely axisymmetric.
