PDMWorks delete rev

PDMWorks delete rev

PDMWorks delete rev

(OP)
Does anyone know how to delete the current rev of the history of a dwg in PDMWorks? I have up to rev B, I would like to delete rev B and go back to rev A. Thanx

RE: PDMWorks delete rev

Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of a PDM system? Why don't you just make it rev 'C' and make a note that 'B' wasn't/shouldn't be used for blah blah reason, thus returning to rev 'A'.

As far as I know, you can't delete the rev, but you may want to ask your VAR about it.

Good Luck!

Someone here made a change...to rev C (in error), and we need to go back to rev B.
I will ask VAR
thanks babe

RE: PDMWorks delete rev

Mistakes happen...done the same myself a couple of times. But the history is there for history sake, and litigations (ugly word). And a rev is a rev. I think it's easier to grab a copy of the rev you want and check it in as the next rev level.

Here is how I fixed it, I was able to open the rev I wanted, save it, delete the one in the vault, then re-check it in.
thanks for advise.

RE: PDMWorks delete rev

I think the admin should at least have the option to remove revisions. What if you're trying to keep the same rev as an outside system?

We also have cancelled changes. You start making changes to rev B and it goes to B.1, then B.2, then the ECO gets cancelled and you want to go back to B, you can't.

Maybe remove is the wrong word. How about change the latest to another rev. Leave the history intact but the stauts of those B.! and B.2 would be "Cancelled" and B would be the latest. Or maybe "Latest Released"
