More experienced opinions are welcomed.  I will be subjecting 150 class fordged flange SOW fitting to a purely axial load of 17 tons.  I would like to perform weld stress calculations on the fittings.  Flange is welded to steel tube body as a lap joint type of weld connection. The outside fillet weld slightly larger than the inside fillet weld.

Can anybody suggest best method of approaching this?  Will AWS 1.1D structural welding code steel help?

Regards
