DC-DC Converter using MC34063

(OP)
I need help in converting 12V to 5V DC for high current load. I've managed to do that for current output of about 1A but I need to have an output current of 2A. I'm using the MC34063 IC. Any suggestions?

RE: DC-DC Converter using MC34063

Have you considered the LM2576 by National Semiconductor (part of the 'Simple Switcher' range)? These are, as the family name implies, very easy to use and give very reasonable performance with little effort and fewer additonal components than the Motorola device.
