laser cutting of magnetic matrials; somebody can give me information, how it looks like?

RE: laser cutting of magnetic matrials;

hey laser cutting is usually a decent way to prototype a transformer core geometry w/o having to go throgh all the tooling charges or a die insert in stamping tool.  usually will laser cut laminates & then assemble in small quantities.  not econ feasible for high volume...
a caveat though:  where as the laser cutting won't induce too much stress in the finshed product, stamping often will. you may find that you need to anneal or heat treat after stamping where you didn't have to w/laser cut stock.

canyoncruz - I believe EDM usually gives better results (better edges) and finer geometries are possible depending on the wire gauge.  But laser works out a bit cheaper.
