Reusable Bolts for Lifting Lug

Reusable Bolts for Lifting Lug

(OP)
I am designing lifting “trunnions“ bolted to skid base. Skid will be loaded and unloaded several times during shipment and therefore these trunnions will be also bolted and unbolted several times. I would like to use the same bolts. In this case which bolts should be specified?

Thanks in advance,

Ibro Vehabovic, P.E.

RE: Reusable Bolts for Lifting Lug

Hi Ibrov,
Are you depending on stevedores to attach and remove the trunnions, or are you sending along a trained crew with torque wrenches to do the job at each stop?

If the equipment will fit within an 8 ft. x 8 ft. x 18 ft. or 38 ft. cube, you might want to consider an ISO transmodal type skid.  Handling equipment and operators for this skid are ubiquitous around the world.  See www.seabox.com.
