GUITAR PICKUP MAGNETS!!!!
GUITAR PICKUP MAGNETS!!!!
(OP)
I am building pickups for my fender guitar and I am using AlNiCo 5 magnets that are all the same strenght. My problem is that the low "E" (first string) is louder than the high "E" (sixth string). Does anyone know how to solve this problem so that all the strings have equal levels. Changing the magnets strenght is not a problem for me but I don't know how much each string needs changing. Is there is a scale, etc...?
thanks
thanks

BTW, if anyone has any information on where/whom to purchase material to make the bobbins from, I'd appreciate the info. Thanks.
RE: GUITAR PICKUP MAGNETS!!!!
always remember the sensitivity of the magnet differs because of size of your strings the low e is a large string and the high e is smaller therefore it creates less current there for less volume. they are all right in that you need to move them closer for each string or use slightly stronger mags for each (though moving them closer is much easier) or if each coil is amplified seperate then you can just change the gain on each to compensate for the difference in sensitivity. tho i think you should just angle the whole thing up a bit to find the sweet spot for the high e and im sure it will make a,d,g,b all sound much stronger also.
