Can 2D in DXF unfolded as sheet blank?

Can 2D in DXF unfolded as sheet blank?

Can 2D in DXF unfolded as sheet blank?

(OP)
We have problem finding a software that can suck in 2D drawings files and unfolded into a flat developed blank with accurate hole locations and proper notching.

RE: Can 2D in DXF unfolded as sheet blank?

The way I have done it....is import the DXF file into a new sketch in SolidWorks. Then start from there the steps to create the sheetmetal bends necessary. Then 'unfold'.
Has worked good for me so far. SW works well with sheetmetal.

RE: Can 2D in DXF unfolded as sheet blank?

If I read your question correctly (at least literally) you want to unfold a SKETCH?  No, No, No.  Unfolding is only (logically) possible on an actual 3D model.

So ctopher is correct - you need to make some sheet metal from the imported 2D DXF/sketch first.  THEN you can unfold it.
