acoustic leak detection in process plants

(OP)
Anyone have any experience of using acoustic leak detection for picking up releases of high pressure gases from process plant?  This would be either as a replacement for conventional gas detection or as a supplement...help!

Give these guys a call:

We use them in our coal fired power plants to monitor steam leaks in the boilers.

RE: acoustic leak detection in process plants

In addition to the on-line system mentioned by JEB66, there are multiple uses for portable accustic leak detection devices. They can be used to identify these otherwise invisible losses in compressed air / vacuum systems, steam traps and valves. It is also a means to detect worn bearings/gears and assure proper lubrication.
