Highly Visible Lights

Highly Visible Lights

Highly Visible Lights

(OP)
We have the need for several outdoor heavy duty lights that preferably need to be:

- Distguishable off or on from 100m away, during daylight.
- Visible from 360 degrees
- Ability to flash or remain solid.
- Green or Red colour
- not a rotating beacon (as the need to for it to appear 'solid')

Anyone have any ideas?  Have exhausted electrical catalogues for something suitable.

Thanks in advance

RE: Highly Visible Lights

Just as a suggestion, can you find a company that supplies lighting equipment to airfields and aviation in general?

I'm sure they'll have something like that.

RE: Highly Visible Lights

Try looking for a "bollard light" on the internet.  They are usually placed in the ground, but you could mount it on a pole if necessary.

www.hydrel.com can manufacture a custom fixture for you, but I would try to find a standard product first.

Thanks all, will do some hunting.

IRstuff, good question.  Basically the lights general shape is to be the top half of a sphere.

RE: Highly Visible Lights

The lights used on tall smoke stacks and towers seem to match all of your criteria.

I don't know who makes them but it shouldn't be too hard to find out.

RE: Highly Visible Lights

Also try companies who supply ship (boat) lights as those are the colours they use.
