Convert solidworks models into pro-e models

(OP)
hi,

my question is how to convert solidworks models into pro-e models.

anybody respond

thanx

RE: Convert solidworks models into pro-e models

You should be allowed either to :

- save your SW model as a Pro/E file (File>Save As in SW)
- Import your SW model into Pro/E (File>Import in Pro/E)

Be advised though that you'll loose a certain amount of data.

RE: Convert solidworks models into pro-e models

The way I do this is:
Save the model in SW as STEP.
Open or import the STEP file in Pro/E.
Note that the file extension for Pro/E must be .stp but SW will use .step so it must be changed.
This will transfer the model geometry but not the features.
(You see only "imported geometry" in the model tree).

RE: Convert solidworks models into pro-e models

this can be done by use of iges conversion as well, but the problem will remain the same, no features tree anymore.
