Jlink hangs due to Sophos Intercheck

Jlink hangs due to Sophos Intercheck

(OP)
If you use J-Link applications with Pro-E 2001 under windows 2000 and also run Sophos virus checker you may find that J-Link applications refuse to start correctly. The symptom is that java.exe starts but the Jlink app doesn't. If you kill java.exe process then restart the JLink app it almost always restarts correctly ( because Sophos caches checksum data ). The problem recurs at intervals when Sophos needs to refresh its cache.

This has happened since Sophos changed the way that it treats Java from about July 2003. I have calls logged with both Sophos and PTC but haven't as yet had a complete resolution.

Hope this helps someone !
