RE: Preservation of spare equipments
Carbon steel
The main thing is try to store them inside. Even if inside add a good coating of a metal protectrant. If your process can stand it Molykote Metal Protector, silicon based. If silicon is a problem there are other hydrocarbon based metal protectrant, Corrosion Bloc, etc. I have bagged small bundles and used a Vapor Phase Inhibitor, Cortec, with great results. Cortec also offers other material for metal protection and also has some helpful literature.
Alloys
Depending on your location they may need to be stored inside also. Store all bundles where there is no chance of water accumulating in the tubes. There are two problems with water, it freezes and bacteria, M.I.C. Depending on the alloy check any coating used for compatibility.
Check the bundle for carbon steel components. These bundles will need to be treated as cs.
Remember any coating has to maintained.
Hope this helps you get started.
