Difference between appearance.dmt and color.map

Difference between appearance.dmt and color.map

Difference between appearance.dmt and color.map

(OP)
I'm still a "newbie" with Pro first off. What exactly is the difference between the appearance.dmt and the color.map files. I'm running Wildfire build 170. I know the appearance.dmt file is what's read in order to change colors of the parts but I'm confused as to what the pro_colormap_path option is doing for me in the config.pro file. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

RE: Difference between appearance.dmt and color.map

I'm using Wildfire too, but haven't used it for long.  In 2001, the color.map file stores all of your custom colors in a palette so you don't have to recreate them when you need them.  the pro_colormap_path would tell proE where the color.map file is so it reads it in automatically whenever you load proE.  I have a palette of custom colors available every time I load proE, and it is very handy.
