are there any resources out there that I can use to determine different tensile strengths of different manufacturers of geogrids?

RE: Geogrid comparison charts

Yes.  Contact Allen Block NW.  They build retaining walls out of various block shapes and they have an absolutely super design manual.  It is loaded with information that would have taken me years to compile.  It has loads of info on geogrids of various brands.  Try Jim at (206) 490-2879

Try checking out https://ssl.blueearth.net/ifai/publications.php3, and go to GFR.  GFR (Geotecnhical Fabrics Report) is published 9 times annually, and they come out with a Specifier's Guide in December of each year.  The Specifier's Guide has technical information on geogrid, geotextiles, geomembranes, GCL's, drainage products, Geocells, and erosion control.

The web site says it costs $55 annually, but I was able to get a free subscription card from a coworker's copy a few years ago, and continue to receive them free.  I don't know if I would spend $55 for a year, but their publication is good.....I might spend $20-30 on it.

RE: Geogrid comparison charts

Eng-Tips members,

I edit GFR ... and I am currently putting together the annual Specifier's Guide, which will include many manufacturers of geogrids and their product specification values. (GFR requires data from ASTM tests.)

If you are based in the United States, I can arrange a free subscription for you. It will begin, I believe, with the Specifier's Guide. Send me your name and mailing address, or name and fax number, and I'll get things set up. My contact information follows, in case you do not want to post full contact info on these pages.

Thank you for your continued participation in this forum. Eng-Tips is a great community.

All best,
