(OP)
All,
I am putting in a RD to protect a PD pump. The RD is installed at the discharge line and routed back to the suction line. In case of overpressure, flow will be diverted back to the suction side. My question is, how to decontaminated this line for maintenance (case: RD does not burst but system needs to be cleaned for maintenance). The space across the RD will be a dead zone and cannot be purged. Should I install a bypass line w. a valve across the RD?

Happy to hear any comments.
