Exploding turbine video

Exploding turbine video

Exploding turbine video

(OP)
When I was in a Navy school 20 years ago, we were shown a high speed video of a gas turbine which exploded when a 1/4" nut was dropped into the intake.  We called it "Shake and Bake video", does anyone have a copy of it?  I'd like to show it to my workmates so they'll understand the dangers of working on turbines.  They think it is just like working on diesels

RE: Exploding turbine video

I saw the same video when I was in the Air force about 40 years ago. Have you tried looking on the Web? It's surprising what's available out there.
Regards,
turbotec
