Cross Qualification of Old BS Steel Stds to ASTM
(OP)
Hi All,
I hope someone here can help. We're trying to clean up some metalograph samples at our local university and I need some cross qualification info for the following alloys.
Base Metals
BS 4360 gr 1 mild steel (.18% C)
BS 970 grade En8 (.4% C)
BS 2870 grade C101 (Tough-pitch Cu)
BS 2870 grade C106 (Phos-deoxidised Cu)
Welding Electrodes
BS 1719 class 3 (CS)
BS 1719 class 6 (CS)
Thanks for any info
Koz

The BS specs I mentioned have been broken up into about 10 specs in the new BS nomenclature. I, of course, was looking for an easy way out. I think I'll ref AISI for the U. Thanks for all of your help.
