Bulk Water Truck Filling Station

Bulk Water Truck Filling Station

I am working on a project where the client wants to develop a spring to supply water to bulk distributors and/or bottled water kiosks.  I am looking for design standards for bulk water filling stations for tank trucks.  I found a company in Canada that sells turnkey systems in a small building complete with flow meters, valves, computer, etc.  but haven't been able to locate standards through AWWA or any other regulatory agencies.  I've contacted a couple of bottled water organizations but haven't received any replies yet.

Any help or leads are greatlty appreciated.  Thanks.

Jack.

RE: Bulk Water Truck Filling Station

Be careful and wary with the "cookie cutter" designs.  The requirements will depend on the type of trucks required to be filled, the rate of filling, the flow rate of the incoming water source, the method of billing, the monitoring system, the pad, smaller fill requirements, water hammer and most important, the (swing) cantilever.

I've desinged a few stations and to be honest, I am still surprised that none are identical!  Each is unique due to the situation and requirements.

Thanks for your reply.  I was hoping to find standards and/or guidelines that may exist specifically for this application, not necessarily canned designs.  I wasn't aware that so many organizations existed that deal with bottled water.  I usually try to avoid "cookie cutter" type approaches to just about anything I design.  All of the items you mention will definately be considered and designed to meet the specific clients needs and desires.  Thanks again.
