Detail View and Hidden Lines

Detail View and Hidden Lines

(OP)
Does anybody know a way to show hidden lines in a detailed view?  I read something about how generally you don't do it, but I was hoping there is a way to force SW to do it.

RE: Detail View and Hidden Lines

I am fairly certain that the detail view display is tied to its parent view.

That being the case, there is an alternative: temporarily turn the hidden lines on in the parent view.  Place sketch lines, etc. across the detail view and constrain them (collinear, coradial, on edge) to the features you want.  Have the sketch lines on a layer with color and font to match your hidden lines, then turn off hidden lines in your parent view.

All this machinery making modern music can still be open-hearted.

RE: Detail View and Hidden Lines

There is a way to show hidden lines in a detail view.
First select the view you want to show the hidden lines in
then in the either the view tool bar select hidden lines visible
or click on view, display, hidden lines visible

Hope this helps out

rporter: Thank you.  Although the selection was view, display, hidden in gray.  Maybe we have a different version.  Thanks anyways; I can't believe I never saw that.
