(OP)
Suppose I need to design an spherically dished vessel head (ASME Appendix 1 Section 1-6) to operate in an ASNI 1500 enviroment (3705 psig).  ASME Sec VIII Div 1 rules are valid only to 3000 psig (Section U-1(d)).  How do I adapt the design calculations to account for the higher pressure and comply with U-1(d)?

RE: ANSI 1500 Vessel

1.  Goto ASME Sect. VIII Div2 for guidance.

2.  If age is not taking its toll, P/T Class 1500 is
    3000 psig.

Cheers
