HELP - draw dimension & change layer in one command

HELP - draw dimension & change layer in one command

HELP - draw dimension & change layer in one command

(OP)
I dont use macros, my screen is quite minimalist, no scroll bars, 3 macros, and the one layer macro plus the pull down tabs. As all my comands are shortcut/keyboard based.

Is there any way to get it so if i tpye " DS " my short cut for dimstraight. To change it to a dimmension layer then change back once i have completed the command.

The dimension style manager will alow you to set it to colors, line weights etc but not to a layer.

Or will i need to create a lisp file and control it via " DS " ????

Scroll down on this site and look for "Autolay 2":

Not only works on dimensions, but hatch and text also.
