Water Slug removal in Pipeline

Water Slug removal in Pipeline

Water Slug removal in Pipeline

(OP)
we use a single pipeline for multi product distribution and at the end of each use the 6" line is flushed with water.
this means that residual water is left in the pipeline until we pump another product through it.

how can we remove the slug of water that is pushed ahead of the new product when we reuse the line?

The line carries diesel, benzine and fuel oil.

RE: Water Slug removal in Pipeline

Hello,

Install a pig launcher at one end and a receiver at the other.  Use pig to separate products.  With the way you are doing it now, what do you do with the contaminated product?  What do you do with the waste water?
