Welding AR 500

(OP)
Is it possible to get a good weld with AR500 (aka Wearalloy 500) to AR500, and AR 500 to A-36 Steel? I have been told that with the carbon content of AR500 at .30 it will be difficult.

Thanks in advance,
Marshall

RE: Welding AR 500

AR500 can be readily welded to A-36 with E7018 electrodes with moderate preheat as thickness increases or ambient temperature declines below 50 F.
