Thickness Selections for MDMT calc. of a clamp

(OP)
Dear colleagues,

Does any of you know where can I get some hints (or examples) concerning how to select "the" thickness of a not regular geometry like the clamp of a quick openning closure.
Any comment on this regard will be very welcome.
Thanks in advance

JJ

RE: Thickness Selections for MDMT calc. of a clamp

Please refer ASME Sec VIII Div1 UCS-66 (1)(b)the thickness shall be the thickness of thinner parts joined by weld.

Trust this will help.
