Water Quality Engineer vs. Env. Engineer

Water Quality Engineer vs. Env. Engineer

Water Quality Engineer vs. Env. Engineer

(OP)
I have a bachelors in Civil and a masters in Civil/Env. Engg. I have been working in the field of env. engg, predominantly hazardous waste management for the last 9 years. I am also a licensed PE Civil in California. I am thinking of trying out water quality engineering jobs. But I am not sure how the job oppportunities are out there in California for water quality engineers and also how much of a learning curve is there to be functioning as full-fledged water quality engineer. PLease let me know, Thanks

RE: Water Quality Engineer vs. Env. Engineer

Great field to get into.  Your qualifications are excellent and any water treatment company, health dept, water utility, power plant, government water agency, etc. etc. etc. would be more than happy to give you any additional water quality training you may need. California, in particular, is very much into water quality and should be looking for someone like you.  COME ON IN.
