Control Slug during Pipeline Pigging

Control Slug during Pipeline Pigging

Control Slug during Pipeline Pigging

(OP)
I have subsea pipeline where there is very small slug catcher downstream.

To do pigging for this pipeline, slug is my concern. Therefore I want to get the proper pig type that can control amoun of slug while pigging.

Your recommendation/advice for this subject is very welcome.

RE: Control Slug during Pipeline Pigging

The type is pig is not as important as how fast or slow you control its movement.  Work backwards.  Determine how much liquid your facilites can handle, crank that down a few notches in the form of a safety factor, calculate line fill, and, then calculate fps or mph of your pig.  The speed of the pig is set by your differential pressure across it.
