'Textual Dimensions'

'Textual Dimensions'

(OP)
Hi all,

I need to delete the automatic text in a dimension i.e. the numerical value created with {0:@D} and replace it with some text.  When you delete the {0:@D} it is always replaced when you close the window.  I just want insert text like ‘Overall Length’ where the value would be in normal dimensions.
Am I missing the point and this can be done with a note with leaders that look like a normal dimension?

Any solution would be great as I only have a few ‘textual dimensions’ to create.
Many thanks in advance, I’m off to bed with my PTC ‘Fundamentals of drawing training guide’!!!

Martin

RE: 'Textual Dimensions'

To override the default dimension value, type {0:@O}, then whatever you want.

You could also show the dimension symbol name by typing {0:@S} and change the dimension symbol to something like "Length."
