Help creating 3-D surface from survy on 2004

(OP)
Have been trying to create a 3-D topo map from a resent survy on AutoCAD 2004.  Haven't had any luck.  Can anyone help me?

RE: Help creating 3-D surface from survy on 2004

do you have any add-ins for autocad, such as land desktop?

I'm not sure about 2004 but there are no tools in older versions to create a 3d topo for points only.

regards
sc

In order to process 3D models on AUTOCAD you need to have Land Development Desktop 2004.  The Land Development Desktop 2004 has AutoCAD engine built into it.  AUTOCAD 2004 is just a basic drafting tool.

cdodge,

Are contours all you want?  If so, look at www.ezysurf.com.  It is a contouring program that runs inside autocad.  I'm not sure about 2004 compatibility, but it seems to run well under 2002.  I believe they have a free trial.  It will do more than contours, cut fill, road design, but I haven't used these features, so I don't know much about them.
