Large sheet metal roll?

Large sheet metal roll?

Large sheet metal roll?

(OP)
As part of my project I have a large (16.2 foot length) sheet metal (t=2.5 mm) tube I need rolled to an 895 mm diameter.  Surely there is capability out there to do this (it is currently being done overseas) in the United States, but I have drawn a blank everywhere I have looked.  There are plent of 20 foot plate rolls, but all for 1 inch plus material.  The crown on those rolls won't allow an acceptable product, diameter tolerance of +- 2mm.

I don't know if this is where I should post this, but anybody have any ideas?  I have tried all the sheet fabricators I have around here (northern Colorado), they all tell me the same thing, they don't know of anyone who would have this capability.  I've thought of a spiral tube mill, it's outside that capacity.  Only other choice is 2 9 foot sections with a splice, which I hate to do, and don't know if I can hit tolerance requirements.  I would appreciate anyone's help.  Thanks.

RE: Large sheet metal roll?

Chad,
You might try contacting some of the roll manufacturers to find to whom they may have supplied a specialty roll.  They are not usually shy about sharing this type infomation.

Would you happen to have any contact info?  I have talked to several large equipment suppliers, nobody can remember selling a roll such as this.  I haven't talked to the manufactures themselves though, would almost have to hit the one salesman that sold one.  Thanks for the idea though.

RE: Large sheet metal roll?

Three from a recent project: Heller, Comeq Roundo, Carrel Eagle.  I believe Webb is still around also.  Most of these folks have built or will build customized machines.  The project I worked on required customization.
If not these guys then try a search of Thomas Register.
