API 610 application?

API 610 application?

API 610 application?

(OP)
A)    What exactly governs whether API 610 pumps are required?
B)    Are there "crossover" products in the ANSI pump world that could be used with high suction pressure of 150 psig at 383 F, and a boost of 90 tdh is required?
C)    If so, when should the ANSI crossover products not be used?

RE: API 610 application?

a) application, process parameters, and materials of construction.  also, client requirements.
b) i am not aware of any, but that does not mean there are.  it would depend upon pump rating and other factors.  check with a good technical rep at pump mfg's.
c) when application & process parameters do not meet or exceed ansi conditions/standards.

RE: API 610 application?

I use to work for a company, and consulted to several others who would usually agree on the use of API 610 whenever you have more than 300 psig design, or more than 300 degF design, or more than 300 bhp, or handling flammable products.  These are usually found in refineries and gas plants, only occassionally in petrochemical plants or liquid hydrocarbon transportation pipeline systems.
