loading multiple releases on one machine

hey guys im trying to load my copy of 2001+ back on my machine after upgrading and also running 2003 at the same time

in previous posts you mention installing in different folders can anyone help

i do the 2001+ install then load the 2003 install
even though in different folders when i start 2001+ it asks for my reg code and even though its the same as the serial supplied i cant change the number back

RE: loading multiple releases on one machine

Reg code is different between SW01+ and SW03. SW01+ is a 4 digit code, where as SW03 is an 8 digit code. The Serial number is the only number that stays the same and has too for both versions to work together.

So you have to enter in 2 different Reg codes one for each package.

scott i tried that ive verified the serial and code is correct for 2001+ and the same for 2003 but when so i
load up 2001+ run the serials no problem

i create a different folder on the same physical drive c
to install 2003 but when i come to register the serial box displays the serial for 2001+ i then change this to the 2003 serial and enter 6 digit authentication code and no problem sw2003 works

when i then start up 2001+ it displays the 2003 code and tells me ive 30 days to register i think its aregistry problem any chance of a step by step to getting them both to work

RE: loading multiple releases on one machine

i create a different folder on the same physical drive c to install 2003

That's fine

but when i come to register the serial box displays the serial for 2001+

The Serial numbers have to be the same (the serial number is the 16 digit code) If you have SW01+ on that machine then it will defaultly use that serial number. You cannot have 2 separate serial numbers on one box.

i then change this to the 2003 serial and enter 6 digit authentication code and no problem sw2003 works

Again the serial number is a 16 digit code. As for the Reg code for SW03 it is an 8 digit code. SW01+ has a 4 digit Reg code.

You have to enter 2 separate RE codes. I cannot stress that enough.
1) Serial number - 16 digit code must be the same for both SW01+ and SW03 to work properly
2) Reg Code - Both codes are separate for each version. SW01+ 4 digit - SW03 8 digit.

The only difference between the 2 can only be the Reg code and they differ because of versions (see above)

when i then start up 2001+ it displays the 2003 code and tells me ive 30 days to register i think its aregistry problem any chance of a step by step to getting them both to work

This is not a registry issue. You have to know what the Reg codes are for each version. then enter in the proper code. You can contact your VAR to get your Codes. All you can do is enter in a 4 digit REG code for SW01+ and an 8 Digit code for SW03

RE: loading multiple releases on one machine

i see my fault then as im using the serial provided by a differnet cad vendor

origanally when we purchased 2001+ we got it from our original supplier when we moved the company we used another and bought release 2003 this has a different serial and this is the mistake i will see if they can convert our original relaese 2001+ and get a matched serial no

i think this must be our fault as we did not give the correct details to the new cad vendor

thanks for your time

cheers m
