PD pump pulsation

PD pump pulsation

PD pump pulsation

(OP)
Trying to add a servuce to an existing PD pump.  I am sizing a PSV off the pump and am pinched between it and the MAWP of the pipe to the point where the magnitude of the pulsation might not allow the PSV setpoint to be within the allowable 10% overpressure.  Any relationship to predict the pulsation amplitude?  The dischage pressure is 4300 PSIG.

RE: PD pump pulsation

It is necessary to consider the characteristics of specific pump and the connected system as a whole.  First, consider a model of the existing system and compare it with measured performance characteristics to verify the validity and accuracy of the model.  Then, alter the model to reflect the proposed modifications.  Several iterations are likely to be needed to determine the configurations that are most likely to satisfy your needs.
