Are their standard shapes in sketch such as Hex, Slots, etc

No, but you can create a feature library to create these items by drag-n-drop.  Search the help for feature libray.

There is Hexpro which is a macro that gets installed with SE. Once you are in the scetch mode go to Tools/Macro... then go to you hard drive where SE is installed more than likely:
C:\Program Files\Solid Edge\Custom\Hexpro
Then double click the macro, a dialog box will appear for you to enter the dim for the hex after that leave the dialog box floating and place as many hex's as you like. Then cancel the dialog box after your are done.
