Is there a way to lower the deviation for exporting a
stl file?  the lowest setting I can get is .0034.
I would like to use .0001
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Frank

RE: Exporting STL

You must be doing some very fine stuff.  I normally set at about 8 degrees and somewhere in the middle of the slider bar for my deviation.

By the way, are you sure you want .0001mm as your deviation or are you thinking in terms of inches?  (My settings are in mm by default.)

Jeff,
Our current software(Cocreate's SolidDesigner)
we can change the setings to any value we would
like as long as the PC can handle it .0001in is about max.
With SW you are limited, the lowest setting is not fine
enough to create a smoother part.
Yes I am using inches.

RE: Exporting STL

Well, here's something you can do.  Leave the deviation setting as the lowest it will give you in mm and then calculate/convert to get the .0001" equivalent in inches.  With such a low deviation in mm, you will be able to get what you need in inches.  Right?

Jeff,
I gave that a try and the MM lowest setting is
the same as the lowest inch setting.

Have you tried to do a custom setting and
set it lower that the Fine setting? It will
not let me go any lower that than fine in MM or In

Thanks a lot for the tips!!!!!
Frank
