RE: ProE Software

Here are some training sources to consider:
1) From PTC directly. They have a series of courses from beginer to super-user. Gnerally you go there (or a local field office) for training. If you have enough people at a work location, it may be more cost efective to bring the trainer to your site.

2) From a third party company such as RAND (www.rand.com). Training offerings will be similiar to those of PTC. The biggest difference I have heard of is that RAND tries to limit 1 person per computer, where PTC will put two.

3) Some college/universities offer training. Not familiar with them or whether instructors are certified users. You just ahve to ask I guess.

4) Trade schools that have CAD programs. There are many trade schools that offer pro/e training. If you presently not employed using Pro/E but want to learn the skill, this is a way to go.

5) Self help type books. A company called CADTRAIN (www.cadtrain.com) offers a self paced training program called COACH. You work interactively between a session in Pro and the COACH program through a series of lessons. There are lesson from beginner to very advanced. We have sucessfully used this to train some people here. There are other self-help books, goto something like amazon.com and search.

So what do I recommend? I you have the money, a course from PTC or RAND can be invaluable. It will remove alot of stumbling blocks quickly. At least do a beginners course and then extend your knowledge by using some self-help type of books.

This is pretty general info, post back in this thread if you have any followup questions and I will try to help.

RE: ProE Software

I would like to add that I have had both training from PTC and from RAND. I have found it very helpful to have your own terminal during training. The content from what I can tell is virtually the same.

GOOD LUCK.

RE: ProE Software

I would also like to submit my appreciation for the PTC training. It is expensive, but you will know how to use the program when the training is complete. The instructors have been helpful to me when I have had a specific question to ask. Take a look at PTC's website. They have many online tips and procedures.

RE: ProE Software

THERE ARE SEVERAL AMERICAN COLLEGES THAT POST TRAINING MATERIAL ON THE NET I HAVE NOT USED THESE FOR 2/3 YEARS BUT I BELIEVE THEY ARE STILL THERE
YHEY ARE USUALLY IN LOWER THAN CURRENT VERSIONS BUT YOU CAN SUSS OUT THE CORRECT COMMANDS WITH A BIT OF THOUGHT
