Cutting using a sweep

Cutting using a sweep

Cutting using a sweep

(OP)
I am attempting to cut a groove using a curve on the face of a part. In the "help" file for SW 2003 it states that you can use the sweep function to cut. I have never been able to do this. If I create a closed profile, the sweep creates a boss. If I leave the "top" open (creating an open profile) and then try to click on the profile I want to cut with, it errors out saying it needs a section and a path.

Any ideas?

RE: Cutting using a sweep

Are you starting your sweep by clicking the icon on the toolbar?

Try "Insert --> Cut --> Sweep" menu picks to start your sweep cut.

Good and evil: wrap them up and disguise it as people.
