Installing multiple SW versions on one computer

Installing multiple SW versions on one computer

Installing multiple SW versions on one computer

(OP)
I'm working for a company that uses a network license of SW 2003.  I have another client that only uses 2001+ and another that uses 2001.  If I have 2003 installed an then install 2001+ or 2001, when I launch 2003 for the network license it tries to use the Serial Number of the 2001+ install and says I need to enter the REG code.  If seen people at work have multiple installs on their machine but I can't seem to make it work.  I've tried this 3 or 4 times without success.  Does anyone have any ideas on what is going wrong or how I can work around it.

My computer is a Dell Laptop running Windows 2000.

Thanks,
Boggs

RE: Installing multiple SW versions on one computer

I have 2001+, 2003 and 2004 beta installed on my machine with no problems.  They need to be installed in seperate folders.  Assuming they are I wonder if it has something to do with the network license.  Try installing 2003 locally on your machine.

RE: Installing multiple SW versions on one computer

I'm not sure about the network installations.

But with SW03 your Reg code is different than the SW01+ and SW01. Being on a SNL, I don't think you have to enter that reg code in. It goes by a FlexLM file. So having multiple copies on one machine is not possible unless you have all three SW's install on the server and a FlexLM file to match.

I maybe wrong so if someone understands SNL's better than me. Please chime in here.

RE: Installing multiple SW versions on one computer

You are right SBaugh, all different licence files are added to licence server and then it allows running all those different versions of SolidWorks.

Flex is awesome! Is flex GONE in '04, or just revamped to use SW's version of flex?
