Problem: Coping views and sections to next sheet.

Solution:
1. Make copy of drawing with different file name.
2. Load coped drawing, with original drawing still open.
3. Select the view (s) and sections from the copied drawing. Note: Views that are used to generate the sections that are to be moved must be picked.
4. Make sheet 2 of the master drawing active, and paste the copied view (s) and or section there. Note: If a section was not selected to be coped, the process should be redone. The view that generated the section must be copied to succeed.
5. Hide the views that are not to be shown on both sheets. Note: Section labels stay, only a note needs to be added to sheet one referencing section or view locations.

RE: Problem: Coping views and sections to next sheet.

Why can't you just Edit>Cut and Edit>Paste the views you want from 1 sheet to the next?  I can't ever recall having a problem doing this.

What instance of a problem led you to this work around you posted?

RE: Problem: Coping views and sections to next sheet.

Try doing it with a fully dimensioned view(s). The dimensions will not carry over.

RE: Problem: Coping views and sections to next sheet.

OK

1) I made a drawing and added a part to it.
2) I added all my dimensions to (Model Items)
3) I made a section view of the front view
4) I fully dimensioned the section view and added notes NOTE: I added the notes after I RMB the section view and "Lock view focus"
5) I clicked Edit\Cut
6) I then click to Sheet 2
7) Then I click Edit\Paste or Ctrl-V
8) The views pasted in along with all the dimensions and notes to Sheet 2.

What is the problem that you are having for giving us this solution, because this seems to work for me?

Yes it does work using the pull down menus. I was using control C to copy & V to paste.

Thanks I'll pass this on to my support also.

RE: Problem: Coping views and sections to next sheet.

Ctrl X, Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V work fine when moving, coping, or pasting, you don't have to go through the menus.

You only have to pick the sheet that you want to paste the views.
