Unable to see datum axis after creating a revolved feature

Unable to see datum axis after creating a revolved feature

Unable to see datum axis after creating a revolved feature

(OP)
I created a revolved feature in Pro/E 2001 and the datum axis for the feature is missing.  What is going on?

Note:  1) The axis and feature are not on a layer. 2) The axis display is on. 3) I have seen this happen many times with several different workstations at my company. 4) I am not sleepy or intoxicated.

Has anyone experienced this phenomena in Pro/E 2000i or 2001?

Hi Ohio30

I'm not sure if this will fix your problem but you can see if you have this set in the config.pro "show_axes_for_extr_arcs" to "yes"

Thanks Tofflemire...

I have this option set, but perhaps that is why I sometimes have this problem with axes?

By the way, the sketch for the revolved feature can be as simple as a single construction line for the axis of revolution and a rectangle for the sketched entities and I still lose the axis when I complete the feature (revolved 360°).

I will not spend too much time on this one, since I can simply create a datum axis through the revolved feature as my next feature.

Does this happen when the revolved protrusion is the first protrusion on the part?

(Later revs of Proe try not to create axis upon axis.)

procadman2,

The revolved protrusion is not always the first protrusion of the part.  If I remember correctly I normally have difficulty with the revolved cut feature.
Again, it is not a major concern because I realize immediately that I do not have an axis for the feature and I simply create a datum axis using the through cylinder option.

Thanks for your input.
